Tasmania Road Trip Part 2 - On the way to Cradle Mountain

Cradle Mountain is the 6th highest mountain in Tasmania, and is one of the most visited attraction in Tasmania. We started our journey from our hotel to Cradle Mountain shortly after our breakfast, stopping by Ashgrove Farm Cheese, Christmas Hill Raspberry Farm Café, 41 South Salmon and Ginseng Farm, Melita Honey Farm and Trowunna Wildlife Park along the way.

1st Stop - Ashgrove Farm Cheese
6173 Bass Highway
Elizabeth Town

We took some time taking pictures of the cow sculptures in the compound before making our way into the shop to look at the dairy products.

5th stop - Trowunna Wildlife Park
1892 Mole Creek Road, Mole Creek
Tasmania 7304

This is our last stop before the start of the winding road up Cradle Mountain, and also our favorite stop. Trowunna Wildlife Park is the home to many animals that are uniquely found in Australia and these animals were unfortunately injured or orphaned before they were being rescued and cared for in this wildlife park.

We timed our  schedule so that we can reached this wildlife park just before the start of the interactive tour. 1 of the park rangers took us around the park to give us a chance to see the wombat, kangaroo and Tasmania Devil in action up close, and explained in details the animal's lifestyle, story of why the animals end up in this wildlife park etc.

As we made our way to Cradle Mountain, we met a road block - a herd of cow was crossing the road!

Finally reach our destination for the day - our cottage at Cradle Mountain Highlander! The hub wasn't too comfortable when he realized that he has to stay in the wildness (i.e, ulu) for the next few nights, but I was trilled to be able to sip tea by the window while looking at the greenery.
