Recently, there had been much rave about the Koka Mee at Blk 163 Bukit Panjang (Gangsa Road). Having eaten the Koka Mee on a few occasion, I felt that it has been over-rated. The broth is richer than what you normally get at stores selling noodle soup, but at is all about it. As a resident of Bukit Panjang, I felt that there are other more delicious food in the neighbourhood which deserves the same credit, or even more attention than the Koka Mee.

2. Bangkit Fishball Noodle
Address: 1 Jelebu Road, 677743 (Bukit Panjang Plaza)
Nearest MRT: Bukit Panjang MRT & LRT
The best part about this fishball noodle is the chilli. Other than being extremely fragrant, it is also extremely addictive as well. The fish-balls are also very bouncy and chewy.
4. Nice Cafe Zi Char
Address: 101 Bukit Panjang Road, Singapore 679910, Senja Cashew Community Center
Nearest MRT: Bukit Panjang
Whenever we've guests visiting us, we always bring them to this zichar store, hidden in the food court of Senja Cashew Community Center. Try its prawn paste chicken, curry fish head, three cup chicken, which never fails to give us and our guests a certain "taste of home" food without the hassle or a hole in the pocket.
4. Hup Choon Roast Meat
Address: 794 Upper Bukit Timah Road
Nearest MRT: Cashew MRT
You should be able to smell this store before you see this store, and the noodles doesn't get soggy even if you tabao it back and eat it much later. The meat are roasted in the store itself, and this speaks a lot about the flavour of the roast duck, char siew etc.
5. Springleaf Prata
Address: 396 Upper Bukit Timah Road Singapore 678048
Nearest MRT: Hillview MRT
Springleaf prata sells prata with a twist - such as prata with poach egg (Plaster Blaster), prata with chicken floss, spam, mayonnaise (Unami 50) and salted egg York prata. Our recommendation for first timer will be Plaster Blaster so that you can boast on your social media, followed by Unami 50, our all time favorite. If you have a sweet tooth, leave some space in your stomach for the red bean prata. Last tip - the fish curry is much nicer than the chicken curry, and goes well with all kinds of pratas!
Below 2 stores used to be located at Chun Sheng Yuan Eating House near Cashew MRT and is part of my Top 5 list, but has since re-located to somewhere else.
1. Chin Choon Prawn Noodle
The key to a great prawn noodle is the soup, and Chin Choon scored high points in this aspect. The noodle is mixed with dark soya sauce, which is not common in Singapore. Chin Choon's ordering system is also unique; you get a number from the store, and when it is your turn, the store assistant will take the order from you at your seat, and deliver the noodles to you.
