If you think that there is nothing much to do in Singapore other than the norms like shopping, and watching a movie, make a trip to Hillview, located in the west side of Singapore, to embrace the serenity of nature in a busy city. Here is a guide on how to spend half a day in Hillview.
How to get there
Hillview is easily accessible via MRT's Downtown Line (DTL3)
What to do there
1. Springleaf Prata Place - The Rail Mall
The Rail Mall is situated within a short walking distance from Hillview MRT station, and Springleaf Prata Place is 1 of the shops at the Rail Mall. This is definitely our favourite prata place in Singapore. On top of traditional prata, Springleaf Prata Place also serves specialty prata, such as prata with poach egg (Prata Blaster), prata with luncheon meat, chicken floss and mayonnaise (Unami 50), and even prata desserts like red bean prata. The fish curry goes exceptionally well with the pratas.

Personal recommendation (Must Try!): Unami 50

2. Railway Bridge
From the entrance of Springleaf Prata Place, you could already see this photogenic bridge, where the KTM trains used to pass by. Since it is now no longer in use, most people come to this bridge for photo taking, and there were a few times where we see couples taking their wedding photos at the bridge.
3. Singapore Quarry
A 10-20 minutes walk from Springleaf Prata Place lies the Singapore Quarry, 1 of the few places in Singapore where you could still see a quarry. Used to be an active granite quarry site, the Singapore Quarry is now a wetland habitat, home to monitor lizard, birds, fishes and many other animals.
Direction - At the back side of Springleaf Prata Place, walk towards Fuyong estate until you past the playground and reach the end of the road. You'll see the sign below, and follow the sign till you reach the Singapore Quarry
Spot the monitor lizard!
