On my 2nd day in Perth, I woke up early and decided to take a morning walk around the town with my mum.
Fremantle is a peaceful & charming town in the morning. Although we only stay here for a night, it is 1 of the most memorable moment throughout the journey.
We managed to find our way to Fremantle Bake House (opens at 7am, located at 52 South Terrace, Fremantle WA 6162) and bought some breakfast for my family.
After breakfast, we checked out, and head towards Penguin Island, which is about a 45mins drive from Fremantle. We bought the ferry & penguin feeding ticket from Rockingham Wild Encounters Gift Shop, and board the next ferry to Penguin Island. Hourly ferry is available from 9am - 3pm, and the last ferry back is 4pm.
The ferry took us around around the clear blue sea to spot sea lions, dolphins, stingrays and other animals at close range before going to Penguin Island.
We watched the penguin show there, but having being to Philip Island at Melbourne, I was quite disappointed, as there are only a few penguins, and the show is more like a penguin feeding session. Nevertheless, my niece is fascinated to see penguins swimming around in front of her.
We left the Penguin Island after the show as there isn't anything much to see, and drove about 30 minutes to Dolphin Quay @ Mandurah for our late lunch. I read somewhere that if you are lucky, you'll be able to spot some dolphins swimming around while eating along Dolphin Quay, but we did not have the luck.
As our parents missed Chinese food, we had our lunch & a short break at a Chinese store (New Asian Delights) next to Sharkey's, before driving to Busselton Jetty which is about 2 hours 15mins away.
